BYD announced the delivery of 470 pure electric buses to Bogota, the capital of Colombia, which is also the country’s largest pure electric bus fleet. The Bogotá Municipal Government and Bogotá Municipal Public Transport Administration held a delivery ceremony for the first batch of 120 buses.
This batch of buses will be put on 9 bus routes in the urban area by the Municipal Public Transport Administration on December 26 this year, and the remaining 350 units are planned to be put on 30 other routes in the first quarter of 2021.
BYD’s bus models delivered this time include 12 meters and 9 meters, with a capacity of 80 and 50 passengers, respectively. The charging time is about 1.5-2.5 hours, and the battery life exceeds 300 kilometers on a single charge.
In addition, the bus is equipped with driver safety surrounds, in-vehicle TV, in-vehicle WIFI, security camera, smart bus system, mobile phone charging USB interface, and assistance system for getting on and off the car for the disabled.
