Japan could ban sale of fuel vehicles by 2035: Report

Recently, Toyota President Akio Toyoda’s remarks at the annual meeting were exposed by the media. As for the Japanese government’s plan to ban the sale of fuel vehicles in 2035, Akio Toyoda commented very strongly.

He pointed out that pure electric vehicles will actually bring more pollution because, in some places, electricity is mainly supplied by burning coal and natural gas.

Toyoda also questioned, those politicians kept saying that they wanted to block fuel vehicles, do they really understand what they are doing? He finally warned that if the government decides to end fuel vehicles so early, our current business model will collapse.

Of course, this remark has also been bombarded by some new energy advocates. For example, the claim that electricity comes from coal and trams are actually more polluting has been rejected by many studies.

It is reported that Toyota has launched a pure electric vehicle globally, namely the CHR/Yize pure electric vehicle launched in the domestic market.
