A recent comparison shows A14 Bionic is way ahead of Snapdragon 888

According to the test results sent by Anandtech, the actual performance of Snapdragon 888 still has a certain gap from A14, and even the performance is not as good as compared to A13 in some scenarios.

In terms of actual running scores, compared with existing Android flagships such as Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, the performance of the Snapdragon 888 processor has been significantly improved, but in terms of overall running scores, it still cannot surpass the iPhone 12 series. The A14 Bionic is even inferior to the A13 Bionic processor on the iPhone 11 in some benchmark tests.

In the GeekBench 5 test, the single-core score of Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 is 1135 points, the multi-core score is 3794 points. While the single-core score of the iPhone 11 equipped with A13 Bionic is 1331 points, and the multi-core score is 3336 points. Snapdragon 888’s single-core is not as good as A13, and the multi-core performance is a certain lead, but the A14 multi-core score reached 4187.

In the GFXBench test (the higher the value, the better the GPU performance), the graphics processing power of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor is 55% higher than that of contemporary processors. Qualcomm previously believed that graphics improvement would be around 35%. When compared with the iPhone 12 and iPhone 11 series, its performance is not so good.

Although there is still a certain gap between the Snapdragon 888 processor and the A13 and A14, the new processor has greatly improved compared to the previous generation Snapdragon 865 used in the current Android flagship smartphone, such as CPU performance. Increased by 25%, GPU performance increased by 35%.
