USTC research team in China made high performance electrode materials with crayfish shells, to be used in electric vehicles
Xinhua News Agency reported that the team of Professor Zhu Xifeng from the University of Science and Technology of China recently proposed a new method that uses heavy bio-oil obtained from pyrolysis of agricultural and forestry wastes and crayfish shells from kitchen waste. The synthesis can be prepared into high-performance supercapacitor electrode materials.
It is understood that the USTC research team used the biological template-alkali activation method and used crayfish shells as auxiliary materials to successfully synthesize layered porous carbon with ultra-high specific surface area, high pore volume, and suitable oxygen atom content from heavy bio-oil.
At the same time, they also studied the effect of activation temperature on the heteroatom content of layered porous carbon and optimized the process conditions for obtaining high-performance supercapacitor electrode materials.
The layered porous carbon prepared in this way exhibits wide operating voltage and high energy density in the performance test of assembled supercapacitors. Compared with the existing electrode materials, it has obvious performance advantages and is expected to be used in electric vehicles including electric vehicles. Multiple application areas. Recently, the internationally renowned academic journal “Carbon” published the results.
