According to the latest information, Microsoft has completed the development of the next version of Windows 10, but users do not need to have too much fantasy about 21H1, because it is not a major version update, only providing quality improvements and functional fixes, Just like the Service Pack in the Win7 era or the current 20H2.
Just as the October update is based on the May update, Windows 10 21H1 will be based on the 20H2 update. In other words, the next version of Windows 10 needs to rely on the “feature pack” to unlock the 21H1 version number, which means that it will be upgraded from 19042 or 19041 to Build 19043.
Sources said that Microsoft will start to provide updates for Windows Insider’s Release Preview Channel testers in January or February (the official update is still May and June). The source also pointed out that the next version update will be the service pack version, but you can expect to see the following improvements:
- Set the application icon to renew.
- Night (dark) mode of Windows search.
- Cortana new features.
- The task manager displays the architecture of the program.
- Optimize the GPU settings.
- Improvements to the Windows subsystem for Linux.
Although the current 21H1 update does not have many functional updates, the next 21H2 is expected to bring a new UI interface and improve the “Start” menu, as well as the Sun Valley update of the functional experience package.
