Apple said to developers that the online purchase process of users in the European Economic Area may be affected by the EU’s upcoming “strong customer certification” requirements.
Apple pointed out that from December 31 this year, EU legislation introduced strong customer authentication requirements for users in the European Economic Area (EEA), which may affect the way they complete online shopping.

It is reported that the EU Payment Services Directive 2 (Payment Services Directive 2, referred to as PSD2) requires “strong customer authentication” for certain online purchases to prevent fraud.
