According to recent news, EXMO, one of the most popular crypto exchanges in Ukraine and Russia, was hacked. The exchange said on Monday that hackers had withdrawn about 5% of the assets from EXMO’s “hot wallet”, but did not disclose the specific amount of loss. Research analysts estimate that the funds are worth approximately $10.5 million.

The exchange provides a list of the types of stolen cryptocurrencies and their addresses, including 6 currencies including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Ripple (XRP), and Zcash (ZEC).

EXMO stated that the company is still investigating the incident and requires other exchanges to block all accounts related to the affected wallets. The exchange further stated that the exchange will cover users affected by the incident.

EXMO continued to state that its cold wallets, or offline wallets, are safe, while hot wallets are online wallets connected to the Internet. At the same time, the exchange has stopped all deposits and withdrawals. Said they had reported the hacking incident to the London police. EXMO will “conduct a thorough security review, including all parts of our systems and data.”
