After updating refund policy Cyberpunk 2077 sale exceeded 13 million copies

According to the latest report “Cyberpunk 2077” is still the subject of many criticisms and commercial censorship, but despite the poor response of the game’s basic console version, sales seem to be still strong. CD Projekt Red’s parent company CD Projekt SA today shared an investor report confirming that “Cyberpunk 2077” has sold more than 13 million copies. The game will be released on December 10, 2020.

This report is based on “reports obtained from digital distribution platforms and data collected from physical issuers” to illustrate any refund requests so far, but the exact number of refunds is still unknown.

The high-end PC version of “Cyberpunk 2077” has been well received, but the console version, especially the console version on Xbox One and PS4, is incredibly mixed. Poor performance, visual quality, malfunctions, and host crashes are frequently reported. So far, CD Projekt Red has released several hotfixes to improve overall performance and remove some more serious faults and errors.

Microsoft and Sony provided unconditional refunds for “Cyberpunk 2077”, as did retail stores such as Best Buy. Microsoft has issued a performance warning for anyone who wants to buy the digital version of Cyberpunk 2077 on Xbox, and Sony Interactive Entertainment has removed the game from the PlayStation Store.

CD Projekt Red plans to release additional patches throughout January and February next year to improve the overall experience. In addition, the next-generation update for games to take full advantage of Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PS5 hardware will be launched sometime in 2021.
