Concerning, the radio and television 5G construction plan, Liang Jing, director of the 5G working group of Hunan Cable Television Network (Group) Co., Ltd., pointed out that in the future, the radio and television 5G can use 700MHz as the base network and use 2.6GHz to enhance network capacities and 4.9GHz as a Capacity supplement. mainly reflects in:
1.Adhere to 700MHz as the basic base network. The value of the 700MHz network is maximized. Based on its low latency, it can comprehensively deploy IoT applications and create the best 5G voice infrastructure network, which can fully meet the edge 720P video business and VoNR requirements in the initial stage.
2.Mobile 2.6GHz enhances network capabilities. With 700MHz+2.6GHz downlink CA, 5G network user experience can be fully ensured in high-traffic services or congestion scenarios, and 700M+2.6G uplink SUL can make up for the lack of 2.6GHz uplink capacity, thereby achieving a win-win experience.
3.The capacity supplement is realized through 4.9GHz. In high hotspot areas and special government and enterprise private network application scenarios, the 4.9GHz network can achieve network expansion in the area.
In the 700MHz network deployment that is of concern to the public, radio and television can refer to mobile 900MHz and telecom’s 800MHz network deployment experience to achieve thin network coverage in the early stage, and then gradually improve network coverage in the later stage.
Compared with 900MHz, the coverage radius of 700MHz has increased by 20%~30%, the coverage area has increased by 44%~70%, and the required sites have been reduced by 30~40%.
With reference to the 800MHz construction of Telecom, a total of 460,000 base stations have been completed in two phases of construction over four years, basically achieving national coverage.
According to reports, China Radio and Television 5G is expected to build 400,000 5G base stations in 2021, and relevant parties have actually given a plan of 450,000 to 500,000. The 400,000 radio and television 700MHz base stations can almost cover more than 90% of the administrative villages in the country.
Therefore, if the progress is smooth, it is possible to achieve the entire radio and television 5G network coverage at 700MHz by the end of next year.
Due to the high priority of 700MHz, the near and midpoint 700MHz users will all reside at 700MHz, which will cause network congestion. To ensure network quality, 2.6GHz can be preferred.
The 700MHz user experience at the far point of the cell is much higher than 2.6GHz and can be switched to 700MHz when the capacity or coverage is insufficient.
