DXOMARK announced that Apple’s HomePod mini has an overall audio score of 98, temporarily ranking at the bottom of the DXOMARK speaker evaluation advanced version.
DXOMARK’s speaker evaluation is divided into standard version (<200 euros) and advanced version (200 euros to 499 euros) in terms of price, and HomePod mini is classified as the advanced version.
DXOMARK said that because the Apple HomePod mini is small in size, our engineers are very surprised by its performance. Its timbre is good, the treble is accurate in most of the scenes, and the middle frequency is clear. At the same time, the speaker has a high directivity score, the sound around the speaker is consistent, and the sound loss is minimal.
The best-performing scenarios for the Apple HomePod mini include listening to audio in a quiet environment or as background music—it scores well in relaxing and small gathering scenarios. But this speaker is not suitable for playing party music or watching movies at high volume.
