According to a report, it was learned from the supply chain that Apple’s smartphone shipments reached 85 million-88 million units in Q4. It is understood that Apple’s original guidance was higher, but the actual shipments were lower than the guidance due to the shortage of some devices, which affected the shipment quantity of about 3 million-5 million units. Apple shipped 73.8 million mobile phones in the fourth quarter of 2019.

Cowen recently released a report stating that Apple’s iPhone 12 series products are in strong demand, and the company has increased the number of OEM orders for the iPhone 12 series. It is expected that iPhone 12 shipments in the first quarter of 2021 will increase by 38% year-on-year to 51 million units.

As Apple postponed the launch of the new iPhone this year, the current overall iPhone sales have only increased by 3% year-on-year to 121 million units. It is expected that the full-year sales of 2020 will be 193 million units, down 3% year-on-year.

Well-known investment institution Wedbush earlier predicted that next year, the total shipment of iPhone is expected to reach 250 million units, which will break the record of 231 million shipments set in 2015.
