As per the reports, Apple’s upcoming electric car will use a ‘mono cell’ battery design, allowing it to optimize the space inside the battery pack. Musk shared his insights on this breakthrough battery technology.
In a recent response to Brett Winton of ARK Invest on Twitter, Elon Musk pointed out that Apple’s pursuit of a ‘single-cell’ battery design feels rather strange. Because from the motor point of view, the “single-cell” design is not feasible, because the maximum voltage will be about 100 times lower.
Apple still reputedly planning to build an iCar.
The apparent secret sauce:
They watched the livestream of Tesla’s battery day;
They also took notes;
Then those notes were exclusively leaked to Reuters.So they could hire, hoping to begin production by

According to Musk, Single cells are electrochemically impossible because the maximum voltage is too low ~ 100 times. Maybe they mean like batteries combined together, just like our structural battery pack?”
Tesla has developed its 4680 battery on the basis of many years of experience in electric vehicle manufacturing. It remains to be seen how Apple and its ‘single-cell’ design will compete with innovations such as the Tesla 4680 battery.
If Apple really launches the long-rumored electric car around 2024, it is likely to face a new generation of Tesla electric cars.
