M1 Mac does not support external ultra-wide monitor some resolutions: Apple will push MacOS to update and fix

Posted on

Apple admitted that when an ultra-wide external display is connected to a Mac with an M1 chip, some resolutions supported by the display may not be available at this time.

Apple said it is aware of this problem and plans to provide a solution in a future macOS update. Apple did not specify the specific repair time, but the first beta version of macOS 11.2 was released last week, and it is speculated that the official version of this version will fix this problem.

To check the resolution of the external monitor, click on the Apple logo in the upper left corner of the Mac, open the system preferences, click on Display, and then hold down the Option key while clicking on “Zoom”.
