Intel’s 11th-generation Core, many manufacturers have released notebook products equipped with Thunderbolt 4 interface. Intel’s first independent Thunderbolt 4 controller Maple Ridge (JHL8540) has also begun to ship, which means that hardware manufacturers can use the Thunderbolt 4 interface in non-11th-generation Core products.
The Thunderbolt 4 controller 8000 series in July this year, including JHL8540 and JHL8340 host controllers for computer manufacturers and JHL8440 device controllers for accessory manufacturers.
According to reports, the Intel Thunderbolt 4 controller 8000 series supports up to 4 Thunderbolt 4 interfaces. Accessories manufacturers can use this chip to produce 4-port Thunderbolt 4 docking station (1 input, 3 output). In addition, the Raiden 4 cable will be available in 0.2m, 0.8m, and 2m, and 5 to 50m versions will be launched in the future.
Among them, the JHL8540 Maple Ridge controller uses PCIe 3.0 x4 lines, supports dual Thunderbolt 4 ports, and dual DP 1.4a inputs.
