LG Electronics recently announced that in partnership with Habitat Korea, a non-profit organization, it will start the ‘Hope Village’ project for the countries like Kenya, Vietnam, and India.
This project is part of the ‘LG Come Home Challenge’ campaign that LG Electronics has conducted for global customers, and the donations donated by LG Electronics and customers to Habitat Korea are used.
In the 70th year of the Korean War this year, LG Electronics decided to conduct a project in Ethiopia to provide shelter to Korean War veterans and their descendants and improve the educational environment for the next three years.
This project targeting more than 80 households, is carried out by building new or renovating safe houses and improving the sanitation and educational environments such as common drinking water facilities, school libraries, and food service facilities.
Datsik Yoon, executive director of LG Electronics’ external cooperation, said, “We will carry out various social contribution activities so that the vulnerable people who need help can enjoy a better life.”
In addition, electronic products such as air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, and air purifiers are provided to public facilities in each country.
