After upgrading to software 14.3, HomePod Mini now supports 18W fast charging

Apple pushed out the 14.3 version update previously for HomePod and HomePod mini. Since then, some users have discovered that this update allows HomePod mini to be powered by an 18W charger.

As per the latest news, HomePod mini can now be powered by Apple’s own 18W USB-C power adapter, and third-party brands such as Aukey can also be used. The users can even use the 18W mobile power supply from Cygnett to power the HomePod mini, making it easy to carry.

This seems to be that the software reduces the voltage requirements of the HomePod mini. Previously, if HomePod mini was used with a power adapter with a rated power lower than 20W, it would display an orange light and could not work properly, including the official 18W included with Apple iPhone 11 The charger is the same. However, it is not yet possible to judge whether all 18W chargers can support it, and perhaps only a part of it.
