5G is not only a mobile communication device but also an important breakthrough technology for automobiles.

A few days ago, the Great Wall Motors 5G vehicle-mounted wireless terminal obtained the ‘Radio Transmission Equipment Model Approval Certificate’ issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

This is the world’s first and only vehicle-mounted wireless terminal that has reached mass production and sales and is equipped with 5G.

According to reports, the in-vehicle wireless terminal devices are exclusively customized and developed by Neusoft Group for Great Wall Motor, and Great Wall Motor has the exclusive right to use it.

The machine adopts a new platform design, takes into account the installation of various models, and integrates FOTA, Ethernet technology, and Internet of Vehicles security technology.

Compared with the existing in-vehicle wireless terminals, 5G in-vehicle wireless terminals rely on 5G communication networks, which will widen the gap in communication speed with cash in-vehicle wireless terminals, which can achieve greater data throughput of the entire vehicle, and Provide a foundation for higher-level autonomous driving technology.

Additionally, 5G is also very helpful for the real-time transmission of high-definition maps. In the autonomous driving scenario, 5G can provide a good channel for the release of high-precision maps, capture information from vehicle sensors, and upload dynamic information about roads to the cloud platform.

Distributing from the cloud to nearby vehicles improves the overall implementation and accuracy of high-precision maps and provides more accurate guidance for car driving.

Use 5G, use a combination of emerging technologies, and generate high-precision 3D map information through a large number of instant message updates, and improve the function of car navigation.

Vehicles detect, record, and share road conditions information about road bumps, potholes, dangerous curves, and other obstacles, and then establish a networked danger map system to improve the safety of intelligent travel.

According to official sources from Great Wall Motors, the first model to be equipped with this device is the third-generation Haval H6, and other products of Great Wall Motors will also be applied in succession.
