In November, Microsoft confirmed that there was a major bug in Windows 10. After installing Windows 10 v2004 Build 19041.173 or later, users may find that Outlook and other applications no longer remember their password. This problem randomly affects different applications, making problem tracking very difficult.
According to user feedback, the affected software includes Chrome, Edge, Outlook, OneDrive, Office, Adobe CC, Microsoft account, Google account, and so on.
This annoying Windows 10 vulnerability prevents software from remembering account credentials. In other words, the affected user must re-enter the user name and password of various software after starting the computer.
Microsoft explained that this problem occurs when certain tasks of the Windows 10 Task Scheduler are configured in a certain way. The temporary solution is to disable these tasks using the “Task Scheduler”.
Currently, Microsoft has found a permanent solution and pushed it to Windows Insider testers. Microsoft Edge project manager Eric Lawrence wrote, ” This problem on Windows only affects a relatively small number of S4U task users, and has been fixed in the latest Windows 10 Insider test channel.”
The fix for this vulnerability will be provided to everyone in the next optional update and will be pushed out to all users on Patch Tuesday.
