Tesla software update hints at Apple Music support
According to the reference supply in the Tesla software update discovered by Twitter user @greentheonly, Tesla may soon add support for Apple Music.
Overseas, Spotify has always been the main way to listen to music using Tesla’s infotainment system (QQ music is supported in China). For some time, Tesla has not supported other music streaming services such as Apple Music, Tidal, or Amazon Music. Tesla first announced support for other music streaming services, especially Tidal, at the Battery Day conference earlier this year.
In the latest 2020.48.26 software update, in addition to mentioning Tidal, there seem to be Apple Music and Amazon Music options.
Tesla has been working on Apple Music support for some time, but the hidden options in the software update are not yet available. Tidal is expected to become Tesla’s first new music streaming service.
So far, the only car manufacturer that directly integrates Apple Music into the infotainment system is Porsche’s all-electric Taycan model.
Looks like more media sources are coming soon. Though it's not quite there yet.
