Online users posted an image and bought the ‘Joan’ iPhone 12 Pro 256GB version from this store for only 8288 yuan, which is 1011 yuan cheaper than the official price of 9299 yuan ($1,425.16 US), and even 511 yuan cheaper than Pinduoduo’s tens of billions of subsidies. It’s a bargain.
According to the previous policy documents issued by the Ministry of Finance, the General Administration of Customs, and the State Administration of Taxation, the annual duty-free shopping limit for Hainan outlying island travelers is RMB 100,000 per person, unlimited times.
Duty-free products purchased on outlying islands are the final products for personal use by consumers and are not allowed to enter the domestic market for resale.
The six newly added duty-free shops on outlying islands are Haikong Global Boutique (Haikou) Duty-Free City, Shenzhen Duty-Free Shopping Mall at Mission Hills Haikou, CDF Haikou Meilan Airport T2 Duty-Free Shop, Sanya Haikou Travel Duty-Free City, China Service Sanya International Duty-Free Shopping Park, and CDF Sanya Phoenix Airport Duty-Free Shop.
At present, the total number of Hainan Island has increased to 10, which are located in Haikou, Sanya, and Boao. The main operating market has also changed from a dominant structure to multiple competition.
