The Chinese manufacturer Shanling is about to launch a new Android HiFi music player named M3X. Recently the official Weibo account of the company revealed some new information about the device.
Shanling M3X will launch the ES9219C DAC chip for the first time, and it is equipped with two chips to meet the needs of balanced output. Users can switch between single/dual DAC mode by themselves. The biggest feature of this chip is that it supports hard-decoding MQA format audio and supports 16 times expansion. Prior to this, portable DAP wanted to decode audio in this format, which needed to be handed over to the system to be decoded by the processor.
Although it does not stream on the phone, it is more than enough to meet the music playback function and run basic third-party apps, and the power consumption is low enough. In addition, M3X memory capacity is 2GB, ROM 32GB, and can support up to 2TB MicroSD card.
This not only consumed more CPU resources and memory, affected the fluency of the system, but also consumed more power. The MQA hard solution is directly transmitted to the DAC chip for decoding and does not require a third-party device or player that supports MQA. Shan Ling said that 16x expansion is the highest expansion factor of MQA at present, and it can fully decode the hidden audio details of this format. M3X will become the first domestic player to support MQA hard decoding.
In terms of audio output of Shanling M3X, several key parameters have been officially announced:
- Signal to noise ratio: 120dB
- Dynamic range: 121dB
- Separation: 115dB @32Ω load
- Output power: 240mW @32Ω load
In addition, this player also has FPGA technology decentralized by flagship devices; it is equipped with KDS low phase noise femtosecond crystal oscillator, American AVX tantalum capacitors, and so on. In terms of battery life, single-ended/single DAC: 23 hours, single-ended/dual DAC: 20 hours, balance: 19 hours.
The Shanling M3X player is equipped with a 3.5mm single-ended, 4.4mm balanced interface and weighs only 168g. The screen uses a 4.2-inch 720p resolution Sharp screen, 356 ppi display effect is delicate.
