According to the latest news, Canon recently announced a “World Heritage” promotional video shot by TBS Japan Broadcasting Station, showing Canon’s 8K video shooting system. This documentary was shot with Canon Cinema EOS 8K camera (K8C) and 8K converter (K8B), and EOS R5 was used as a backup camera. As the Tokyo Olympics is expected to be held in 2021, some heavy photographic equipment will be released before the Olympics.
This camera has been exposed before. According to previous information, Canon K8C will be equipped with Canon’s self-developed 8K Super 35mm CMOS sensor, using the EF mount, supporting recording up to 8K resolution, 60fps video, and capable of outputting 8K RAW images for external recorders.
The resolution of the 8K video is 8192×4320, about 35 million pixels, which is equivalent to 4 times the amount of information of the 4K video. Despite its powerful performance, the Canon K8C camera body weighs only 1.9kg, inheriting the appearance and handling of Canon C300 series cameras.
In this video, the photographer talked about the experience of using Canon’s 8K camera for documentary shooting and said that Canon’s 8K system can provide very powerful ease of use and a good low light texture. The video also showed 8K video converters, external recorders, and a variety of Canon movie lenses. The newly designed lens will meet the ultra-high resolution requirements of 8K video.
In addition, an 8K resolution monitor is also shown in the video. The “World Heritage” series of documentaries filmed by Canon’s 8K system will be broadcast on TBS TV in Japan on January 10, 2021.
