Huawei fell out with Tencent and removed its games from the AppGallery, a branded online app store. The authoritative publication Bloomberg drew attention to the problem. In addition, Tencent owns hit companies like League of Legends and Clash of Clans.
It is noted that on December 31, 2020, Tencent tried to make a “big change” in terms of cooperation with the Chinese giant. As a result, on January 1, the games of the Tencent ecosystem disappeared from the Chinese AppGallery.
This happened shortly after Apple removed 39,000 games from the Chinese App Store in one day. It was caused by the expiration of the period during which game publishers had to obtain licenses to sell software in China.
Then the equally authoritative publication Reuters reported that further negotiations between Huawei and Tencent allowed the companies to come to an agreement and restore cooperation. In the meantime, the games have been restored to the AppGallery.
