Microsoft plans to introduce new security feature to Edge browser soon
Microsoft plans to introduce three key improvements to the Edge browser on January 2021, including password leak alerts, vertical tab navigation, and strong password suggestions. After synchronizing the password through the Microsoft Account, the Edge browser will also issue a warning when a leak/fraud activity is detected to remind the user to change the password in time.
At present, this function is limited to Microsoft accounts and requires active password synchronization before it can be activated. That way, in the unfortunate event of a password leak in the future, you can receive timely notifications through the Microsoft Edge browser.
Microsoft pointed out in its recently updated roadmap that it plans to introduce this experience in the Edge 88 version. The browser will check the user’s password against the known credential store and will alert when a match is detected.
Specifically, the user gestures only recorded part of the interaction in the Web content area, and as a result, it prevented attempts to start the protocol processor program from a bookmark or multi-purpose search box (Omnibox).
Microsoft pointed out that the problem is that external handlers called from bookmarks are always started, regardless of what the browser reports.
