According to Windows Central report that as early as 2018, there was news that Microsoft was creating a new modern version of Windows 10 for PCs, codenamed Polaris. This will be a product under Windows Core OS, which also includes Andromeda as an operating system for foldable mobile devices.
It is rumored that this operating system will strip a lot of legacy code and compatibility issues, and the current version of the operating system is suffering. Although Microsoft canceled Polaris and Andromeda in 2018 and subsequently announced Windows 10X as its replacement, the build version of the former has been leaked on the Internet.
Windows Central reported that the old build version of Polaris – the modularity of traditional PCs – has been leaked on the Internet, but unfortunately, there is nothing exciting about it. The leak is a very early build of Polaris in 2018 and does not contain any shells or applications. This basically means that it also has no GUI, just bare operating system packages.
Although there are not many things available in the build version, there is a small episode that Polaris is built on Windows 10 RS3 RTM and is compatible with the ARM32 architecture. This means that it can be started and run on the old Surface RT.
Polaris was originally a modular version of Windows, which can provide better flexibility, power management, and performance. However, it should be emphasized that the operating system has stopped development and has been replaced by Windows 10X, which is scheduled to arrive later this year.
