According to news, Intel issued a notice on January 4, announcing that it will discontinue production of 300 series motherboard chipsets, including Z390, Z370, B365, H310, and QMS380.
This series of chipsets was released in 2017 and is suitable for Intel’s 8th and 9th generation processors, such as Core i7-8700K and i9-9900K.
According to Intel’s notice, the supply of the 300 series chipset will end on January 28, 2022, and manufacturers need to place final orders before January 23, 2021.
In this series of chipsets, H310 has many variants, including H310, H310D manufactured by 14nm process, and H310C manufactured by 22nm process.
Although Intel has replaced the interface every time it releases a CPU, the motherboard chipsets are also incompatible with each other.
However, under the pressure of AMD, Intel’s 8th, 9th, 10th, and 11th generation CPUs have maintained compatibility for two years, reducing the cost of users to replace the motherboard to a certain extent.
Intel is about to release the latest 11-generation processors and 500 series chipsets at this year’s CES Consumer Electronics Show.
The currently announced models include Z590, B560, and H510. The official has confirmed that the LGA1200 interface will continue to be used, and the Z490 motherboard will be compatible with the latest CPU.
