Apple stopped verifying iOS 14.2 and iOS 14.2.1 channels to prevent downgrade of iOS 14.3
After releasing the official version of iOS 14.3 last month, Apple today stopped verifying iOS 14.2 and iOS 14.2.1. This means that users who update to iOS 14.3 cannot downgrade to iOS 14.2 and iOS 14.2.1.
iOS 14.3 includes support for Apple Fitness+ and AirPods Max, includes the ability to take Apple ProRAW photos on the iPhone 12 Pro, and also brings independent 5G functionality to the iPhone 12 furnished with dual SIM cards.
Apple usually closes verifying the old version of iOS within a few weeks after pushing the official version update.
iOS 14.2 is the first iOS official version update after the release of the iPhone 12 series. iOS 14.2 brings more than 100 new emojis. At the same time, the optimized battery charging of AirPods can slow down the battery aging rate by decreasing the time for AirPods to fully charge.
For several users who have updated to the latest iOS system, when they encounter major bugs, the downgrade method is sometimes very effective. This is why Apple will wait for a while before closing the verification channel of the old iOS system.
