AMD plans to release two Ryzen 5000 series processors without the X suffix. The models are R9 5900 and R7 5800 that have lower TDP than the X suffix version.

Today, leaked several specification information of these two processors:

  • R9 5900: 12 cores and 24 threads, 70MB total cache, Boost frequency 4.7GHz
  • R7 5800: 8 cores 16 threads, 36MB total cache, Boost frequency 4.6GHz

Compared to the two models with the X suffix, the Boost frequency of the R9 5900 and R7 5800 are both reduced by 0.1GHz, but both CPUs will have a 65W TDP that is 40W lower than the X suffix model. Reduce the need for heat dissipation.
