MediaTek announced, its WiFi 6E chipset officially selected as WiFi 6E test platform of WiFi Alliance

MediaTek declared yesterday that its WiFi 6E chipset was officially chosen as the WiFi 6E test platform of the WiFi Alliance.

As per the report, the selected Wi-Fi 6E chipset includes the MT7915-AP-AX wireless access point solution and the MT7915-STA-AX client wireless solution, both of which support the 6GHz frequency band.

Additionally, the MediaTek Wi-Fi 6E chipset also supports 1024-QAM, OFDMA, TWT, MU-MIMO, and other technologies.

Among them, OFDMA and MU-MIMO, as the core technology of the latest generation of 802.11ax wireless network (ie WiFi 6), can provide multiple concurrent technologies in frequency space and physical space.

Particularly, multiple terminals can transmit in parallel at the same time without waiting in line and competing with each other, thereby improving efficiency and decreasing delay.

Even in a very dense and crowded environment, it can provide a stable and high-speed network connection.

At the same time, relying on TWT target wake-up technology can decrease radiofrequency working time and optimize network resources that can effectively reduce the power consumption of mobile phones, computers, and other terminals, and extend battery life.

MediaTek’s deputy general manager Xu Haojun said that MediaTek has a rich Wi-Fi product portfolio and is a major Wi-Fi supplier in the fields of broadband, retail routers, consumer electronics, and gaming, providing Wi-Fi solutions for hundreds of millions of devices every year.

As a test platform for Wi-Fi 6E, MediaTek wireless access points and client solutions participate in the product certification process and look forward to bringing users a new Gen of connectivity functions to meet new and most advanced wireless connectivity needs.

It is worth mentioning that the emergence of WiFi 6E is not only a major upgrade of network technology but also a brand new high-speed experience for ordinary consumers.
