Mercedes-Benz Announces 2020 Audi and BMW Sales in China

Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Audi are the three major German luxury brands. Mercedes-Benz is the first to announce the 2020 report card.

Data shows that Mercedes-Benz delivered 2.164 million new cars to global users in 2020, maintaining a leading edge in the luxury car market, while the sales of plug-in hybrid and pure electric patterns accounted for the overall sales of passenger cars. 7.4%, a good growth trend.

It was pointed out that the Chinese market was the first to show its recovery momentum in the first half of the year, becoming the main driving force of Mercedes-Benz’s global performance.

In the past year, Mercedes-Benz and its dealer partners delivered a total of 774,000 new cars to Chinese customers, an increase of 11.7% year-on-year. According to Mercedes-Benz, in the annual sales of the Mercedes-Benz brand, the car series accounted for nearly half of the market.

SUV models continued to grow well, with annual sales increasing by 28% year-on-year, accounting for nearly 40% of overall sales. The new GLA SUV, GLC SUV, and GLE SUV all achieved year-on-year growth.

Additionally, 8 domestically-made passenger models of Mercedes-Benz currently contribute more than 3/4 of its sales in China. It is reported that in 2021, the new Daimler China R&D and Technology Center plans to officially put into operation in order to further enhance local R&D and production capabilities.

In 2021, Mercedes-Benz will start the ‘year of EQ’ and will successively introduce three pure electric models of EQA, EQB, and EQS to the Chinese market.

Additionally, 2021 is the 100th anniversary of the birth of the Mercedes-Maybach sub-brand, and the new Maybach S-Class will also officially enter the Chinese market.
