Apple will launch two new design MacBook Pros in Q3 quarter of 2021

Guo Mingchi launched a new MacBook heat pipe specification upgrade report today, predicting that Apple will release two new design MacBook Pros in the Q3 quarter of 2021. Benefited from the strong replacement demand, the total MacBook shipments are supposed to grow significantly by 25-30% YoY to 20 million units in 2021.

It is estimated that the newly designed MacBook Pro will account for 60–70% of the total MacBook shipments in 2021.

Ming-Chi Kuo’s report stated that MacBook Pro has not changed its design for 5 years. It is believed that the launch of two new models including new designs in 3Q21 will attract consumers’ attention and significantly boost the demand for replacement.

The following are the relevant predictions:

The two new models are equipped with approximately 14-inch and 16-inch displays respectively.

  • In terms of case design, the new model’s top cover and bottom cancel the existing curved design and use a flat right-angle design similar to the iPhone 12.
  • Restored MagSafe charging connector design.
  • Remove the OLED Touch Bar and restore the physical function buttons.
  • There is no Intel CPU option for the new models.
  • Equipped with more types of I/O, most users may not need to purchase additional adapters.

Guo Mingchi predicts that the two newly designed MacBook Pros will use the heat pipe cooling design of the existing 16-inch MacBook Pro, and the specifications are significantly better than the existing 13-inch MacBook Pro and MacBook Air.

In order to provide better computing power, the two newly designed MacBook Pro adopts a heat dissipation system design similar to the 16-inch MacBook Pro.

Because the 16-inch MacBook Pro, which is furnished with the highest-profile cooling system, will account for less than 10% of shipments in 2020, and the MacBook Air, which has a high shipment in 2020, is not furnished with heat pipes.
