Ambarella released image processor CV5: Supports dual 8K sensors, HDR, intelligent stabilization, and more

According to the news, Ambarella released its next-generation artificial intelligence (AI) image processor CV5. The CV5 processor uses a 5nm production process, combining the chip manufacturer’s AI engine CVflow with dual Arm A76 CPUs, and can handle 8K video encoding with a power consumption of less than 2W.

As per the Ambarella,  for small sports cameras, CV5 can support up to 8K 30fps or 4K 240fps shooting, and supports HDR, face tracking, time-lapse video, and high ISO photography; for 360-degree panoramic cameras, CV5 can support dual 8K sensors.

Along with this, it supports HDR, intelligent stabilization, and image stitching, for drones and other equipment, CV5 can support 8K video shooting and supports object detection and avoidance, object tracking, and path planning.

Cameras or drones furnished with CV5 chips are expected to be released in the second half of this year.
