Samsung officially released new consumer-grade SATA SSD 870 EVO series
Samsung officially released the new consumer SATA interface solid-state drive 870 EVO series. According to the official statement, the new 870 EVO solid-state drive represents an excellent product in the SATA-interface solid-state drive product line. It is also providing strong performance, reliability, and wide compatibility for notebook and desktop personal computer users and network storage (NAS) users.
The Samsung 870 EVO solid-state drive uses Samsung’s new-generation V-NAND flash memory and controller, with sequential read speeds up to 560MB/s and sequential write speeds up to 530MB/s.
Smart Turbo Write uses a larger variable buffer to increase the write speed while maintaining high efficiency and stability, thereby helping to maintain product performance.
Compared with the product 860 series, the random read speed of the 870 EVO has increased by nearly 38%, which effectively improves the user experience during multitasking and Web browsing.
Samsung stated that Samsung is responsible for the design, development, and production of all components of 870EVO. Compared with the 860 EVO solid-state drive, the 870 EVO 4TB solid-state drive improves performance by approximately 30% and provides up to 2400 TB of write capacity, or a 5-year limited warranty.
In addition, the energy-saving sleep mode of 870EVO is compatible with devices that support Windows Modern Standby. The suggested retail price of the 250GB Samsung 870 EVO SSD is US$49.99.
