January 2021 security update rolling out for Samsung Galaxy Note 9

Recently, Samsung Galaxy Note 9 device locked on Verizon has received the January 2021 security update in the United States. According to the new information, T-Mobile and Sprint have begun to send new software updates to their restricted Galaxy Note 9 devices.

According to Samsung, January’s security patch fixes 1 critical and 47 high levels of exploits for increased device protection.

This update comes with firmware version: N960USQS6FTL1 that installs the latest Android patches released in January 2021.

Although, Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is currently running on One UI 2.5 based on Android 10, which is the last major version of these devices. The company will not provide Android 11 updates for Galaxy Note 9 and S9 models but promises a security update for 4 years from the release date.
