Nvidia mobile graphics cards no longer distinguish between Max-Q and Max-P
NVIDIA declared Ampere GPU mobile graphics at CES 2021 and stated that the RTX 30 series of mobile graphics will bring the third-generation Max-Q function.
According to the news, Nvidia and OEM producers will no longer mention whether the Ampere mobile GPU is the Max-Q or Max-P version. Nvidia said that every Ampere mobile GPU can provide the third-generation Max-Q function.
As per the news, whether to implement the Max-Q function will be determined by the OEM. As shown in the figure below, the power consumption range of the RTX 3080 mobile version is 80-150W that also means that the performance release of different notebook products may be quite different.
The mobile graphics cards of the previous generation Turing architecture GPU are available in Max-P and Max-Q versions. The latter helps device producers design thin and light laptops with better battery life.
Gaming notebooks furnished with RTX 30 series mobile graphics cards will be released on January 26. Interested friends can pay attention to it.
