Apple released iOS 14.4 and iPadOS 14.4 RC (release candidate) updates for developers. In iOS 14.4, the iPhone camera can recognize a smaller QR code and can send a notification when the iPhone 12 series camera cannot be verified as a brand new camera.
Moreover, iOS 14.4 brings a new setting that supports specifying the type of third-party audio devices connected to Bluetooth for correct headset audio level measurement.
Apple will track the audio level measurement of the headset and will issue an alert if the volume of music playback may harm hearing health over time.
iOS 14.4 also resolves the following issues:
- Image artifacts may appear in HDR photos taken with iPhone 12 Pro;
- The Fitness widget may not display updated activity data;
- The input may be delayed, and word suggestions may not appear on the keyboard;
- The keyboard may not be displayed in the message in the correct language;
- After pausing the voice prompt or Siri, the audio in the CarPlay “News” application may not be restored;
- Enabling switch control inaccessibility may prevent you from receiving calls on the lock screen.
