Lately, Dongfeng Fengshen launched a camouflage test video of the brand’s latest model, Yixuan MAX. The new car will be based on the DF2 platform, furnished with a new 1.5T engine code-named C15TDR, and positioned as the flagship sedan within the brand.
The DF2 platform is Dongfeng Passenger Vehicle’s first self-developed modular platform. It covers a variety of categories including cars, SUVs, CROSS, station wagons, and MPVs, and can create a variety of models including wheelbases between 2640-2920mm.
From the test live images, the new car as a whole has a high similarity with Fengshen Yixuan, but the details tend to be more sporty. The horizontal decorative strip in the front grille of Yixuan MAX is stronger, and the design of the lamp group has also been adjusted.
As the new car has been lengthened for the model, the body creates a lower profile and more sporty. Yixuan MAX is positioned as the flagship of the family. In the future, it will be furnished with a 1.5T engine code-named C15TDR.
This engine has also been selected by China Automotive Research Institute as the ‘China Heart’ ten best engines. The engine utilizes a 350bar injection system, low-viscosity oil, integrated exhaust manifold, innovative dual-chamber oil pan design, and other technologies.
The maximum power is 203 horsepower and the peak torque is 320 N·m. It is certified by China Automotive Advantech and its thermal efficiency is as high as 41.07%. It is worth mentioning that the key system of the C15TDR engine has undergone more than 120 individual verifications.
The accumulated test bench time exceeds 43,000 hours, and the actual vehicle verification mileage exceeds 7 million kilometers, which is equivalent to 175 times around the equator. It is reported that in addition to the pure fuel version, Yixuan MAX is also supposed to launch a hybrid model, namely 1.5T+HD120.
