As per the news, the LG K42 rugged and durable smartphone has been launched in India. It has passed 9 US military tests, including high temperature, low temperature, temperature shock, vibration, shock, and humidity.
It has also passed the MIL-std810g certification, indicating that it is very suitable for use in extreme environments where ordinary smartphones may malfunction. Additionally, LG K42 will also provide a two-year extended warranty period, including one-time replacement of the screen, no additional costs.
LG K42 is also furnished with a walkie-talkie function, just press a button, this function may come in handy when unlocking the phone to make calls/texts. LG claims that LG K42 provides a stable grip with a unique wave pattern and UV coating to make it less susceptible to scratches.
In terms of the selling price, the LG K42 is quite affordable at Rs 10,990 (approximately RMB 975). It will be on sale on Flipkart from January 26th and will be available in green and gray colors. This smartphone seems to have only one configuration: 3GB RAM + 64GB storage space.
By looking at the specific configuration, although the LG K42 is tailored for rough and arduous use, it is actually equipped with ‘quite weak hardware.’
The device is furnished with a MediaTek Helio P22 processor, furnished with a 6.6-inch waterdrop screen, a front 8-megapixel selfie lens, and a rear four cameras, including a 13-megapixel main camera, a 5-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel Depth of field lens, and a 2 million pixel macro lens, supplemented by 4000mAh battery, using USB Type-C port to charge, support WiFi and Bluetooth 5.0.
Additionally, LG K42 is also furnished with a side fingerprint scanner and a dedicated Google Assistant button. The device is 8.4mm thick and weighs 184g. The LG k42’s specifications are clearly not satisfactory, it fills the gap of rugged smartphones in the emerging budget segment of the Indian smartphone market.
