According to the news, BYD Co., Ltd. intends to release an independent new energy high-end brand in 2022. The brand will develop products on a new platform and build an independent Dealer network.

As per the report, people familiar with the matter revealed that during internal discussions, BYD executives believed that the existing dealer capacity could not support the ‘high-level sense of hardware and service’ needed by high-end brands, so they decided to begin a new and recruit new dealer investors.

And the construction of new distributor channels. The person also revealed that BYD Auto’s new high-end brand models will be built on the EV2.0 platform. The first model is internally named ‘Dolphin’ and is scheduled to be launched in 2023.

In 2020, BYD’s new energy vehicle sales were 189,700, a year-on-year decrease of 17.35 percent. This is the second consecutive year that BYD’s new energy vehicle sales have fallen.
