Lately, Samsung is expanding the Health Monitor application to 31 new countries, mainly some European countries. A per the report, users in these countries can use the Health Monitor application in conjunction with Watch 3 or Active 2 smartwatches to obtain electrocardiogram (EKG) and blood pressure readings.

Samsung announced that the app received the CE mark in December last year. This means that it complies with applicable European regulations and can be used by European users. Judging from the current news, the application will be launched in dozens of countries including Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom, and will soon be expanded to Chile, Indonesia, and Arabia.

In terms of operation method, users only need to install the Health Monitor application on Samsung smartphones, Watch 3, or Active 2 to perform ECG or blood pressure measurement.

However, the official also said that although the program will be launched in these countries on February 4, whether it is practical or not depends on the local market and operators.

Apple Watch Series 4 has released the ECG detection function in 2018, but Apple smartwatches still seem to be unable to track blood pressure so far.
