New smartphone patent of Xiaomi shows detachable rear camera used to take selfies

Xiaomi is famous for its patented smartphone design. This month, we saw a number of new and unique patents for the upcoming Xiaomi device. At the same time, it seems that the company is working on a new design.

According to a new patent, Xiaomi is developing a mobile phone with a detachable rear camera. The image shows a rear camera module with multiple lenses, which can be removed from the top and mounted on the top to be used as a front camera.

However, the exact mechanism behind the design is not yet clear, but according to the patent, it will include magnets, receivers, wireless transmission modules, etc.

According to the design of the patent, Xiaomi believes that this modular solution can finally achieve a full-screen display without gaps and will not affect immersion. But this design may damage the waterproof and dustproof of the phone.

The image further shows the circular camera module in the patent specification. This means that camera modules of any size/shape can be removed from the back and fixed in other positions.

Unfortunately, it is still unclear whether Xiaomi really plans to implement the design and launch a commercial phone, but for now, if implemented properly, this idea seems very interesting.

In addition, Xiaomi previously applied for a patent for a truly innovative pop-up camera technology for its future flagship product. This pop-up camera design can be used to capture regular and selfie pictures/videos. read more.

In addition, a few days ago, Xiaomi also applied for a patent for a new smartphone with a unique sliding screen display. The phone uses a retractable sliding screen that covers most of the entire front, bottom, and back.
