Apple’s new patent leaked, the car is expected to recognize traffic gestures
Recently, Apple has leaked the latest patent for recognizing traffic gestures. The patent shows that Apple Car can recognize and guide traffic gestures through sensors.
The patent mentions that with the improvement of vehicle safety and the rise of automatic navigation and control of cars, various types of remote sensing devices installed on vehicles have become increasingly popular.
Automated navigation and control systems can process data collected by sensors to detect and characterize objects in the environment for different purposes.
But driverless car systems usually return control to the driver in the event of unexpected traffic conditions or any other atypical driving situations. None of these systems can solve accidental traffic diversions.
In this case, pedestrians may manually guide traffic, such as traffic accidents, special events, or road hazards. Therefore, the function of the patent is that the posture of the traffic commander can be interpreted and understood by the vehicle as commands to perform maneuvers related to traffic diversions, including stopping, decelerating, or turning.
The vehicle may be furnished with a command confirmation device to conform to the traffic commander the vehicle’s understanding of traffic diversion conditions or maneuvering commands.
Once detected and determined, the information collected from the person directing the traffic’ can be shared with other vehicles and equipment, or stored in a database.’
