Microsoft officially launched the HoloLens 2 industrial version on February 1. The device is currently in use by Lockheed Martin, Imperial College Healthcare, Mercedes-Benz, and other companies.
Compared to the regular version of HoloLens 2, the industrial version of HoloLens 2 meets some new standards. Its ISO 14644-1 5-8 grade has been applied to clean rooms, and in terms of quality and safety, its grade has reached UL Class I 2 level.
The industrial version of HoloLens 2 also gives a new fast replacement plan. If the user’s device fails, he can get a new spare one day after applying for repair. The warranty period has also been extended from one year to two years.
Additionally, its functional design is the same as the regular HoloLens 2, and users can perform the same operations outside of a supervised environment. It supports the same applications, and they will work in the same way.
The HoloLens 2 industrial version is now available at a cost of 4950 US dollars (about 31976 yuan) and will be on sale this spring.
