Samsung re-added the Galaxy Fold 5G for monthly security updates

On February 2, Samsung released the details of the February 2021 security patch. As stated in the security bulletin, Samsung’s latest security patch fixes 32 high-level CVEs and 4 critical-level CVEs.

In addition to the new security announcement, the company has also released a revised list of qualified Galaxy devices, which will update the software monthly/quarterly/otherly. Yesterday, Samsung mistakenly deleted the Galaxy Z Fold 5G from the list of qualified devices.

According to official information, the company has added Galaxy Fold 5G again in its monthly security update program. However, the first generation of foldable smartphones has already begun to receive the Android 11-based One UI 3.0 update with the January 2021 security patch.

It is expected that Samsung will soon release a security update for the Galaxy Fold 5G this month.

As we all know, Samsung provides security updates for four years, including monthly security patches for two years from the date of device startup. After removing the Galaxy Fold 5G from the security update, some bloggers reported on Samsung’s move, which was also criticized.
