Microsoft today officially launched the Viva work platform that aims to help companies work remotely. The Viva platform is split into four modules: connection, insight, topic, and learning.
The connection module is the regular internal communication, in which employees can communicate with other colleagues remotely. It also contains a dashboard that displays company news, contacts, community content, and more.
The insight module is used to count employee data. Managers can collect employee work data from this module and analyze employee productivity. Microsoft also stated that the module would respect employee privacy, and certain data can only be viewed by employees.
The learning module is used for internal training, and managers can place training materials, courses, and other content in it for employees to learn.
The topic module can be regarded as the company’s internal encyclopedia. It utilizes AI to organize content and automatically displays documents, videos, and related personnel in topic cards.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella (Satya Nadella) stated: We participated in the world’s largest large-scale remote work experiment. He emphasized that the global pandemic has reshaped people’s work, study, and lifestyle. Therefore, flexibility in when, where, and how to work will be key.
Viva’s topic module has been launched to Microsoft 365 users today, and other modules will be tested and launched this year.
