Intel announced, B460 and H410 motherboards will not support 11th generation Core processors

Intel has now confirmed that the existing entry-level H410 and mid-range B460 motherboards will not be compatible including the upcoming 11th generation Core Rocket Lake processors.

Intel motherboard partners are expanding their line of B560 and H570 motherboards, and these motherboards and Z590 seem to be the only compatible boards for the 11th generation Core processors.

The H510 motherboard upgrade model H510 does not have a major upgrade, but supports WiFi 6 onboard wireless connection, and utilizes the newer ME firmware out of the box.

The B560 motherboard has much more changes than the previous generation. Intel allows this mid-range chipset to overclock memory for the first time, and the motherboard also lists RAID support and 1×16 + 1×4 PCI Gen3.0 support.

The 500 series also supports PCI Gen4.0, but these channels are only processed by the CPU, not the chipset. Intel has not yet disclosed when the 11th-generation Core desktop processors will be launched, and only mentioned that it plans to be available in the second quarter of 2021.
