Apple launched a new repair plan, some MacBook Pros can replace batteries for free
According to the news, MacBook Pro encountered a problem that it could not be charged. Recently, Apple also officially launched macOS Big Sur 11.2.1 that solves the problem that some 2016 and 2017 MacBook Pros cannot be charged.
Today, Apple officially released a supporting document and stated that if the battery power of the MacBook Pro (2016 or 2017) cannot be charged to more than 1%, and the battery health status on the device is displayed as ‘recommended repair’, You can contact the Apple official to replace the battery for free.
Additionally, before providing services, technicians will also check the user’s computer to verify whether the equipment meets the conditions for free battery replacement.
To determine whether the MacBook Pro battery needs repair, we need to check the battery’s health. Users of the macOS Big Sur system can click the Apple logo in the upper left corner-‘System Preferences’-‘Battery‘ in turn, then select ‘Battery‘ in the sidebar, and click ‘Battery Health’ to view.
In macOS Catalina or lower versions, you need to hold down the Option key and click the battery icon in the menu bar to display the battery status menu. If the battery is normal, it means that our MacBook Pro has no problem, and if the word ‘repair required’ appears, the user needs to contact Apple to replace the battery after-sales.
