Microsoft released the cumulative update number KB4601315 to users of Windows 10 Version 1909. Last year, Windows 10 1903 has not got any updates, so if users want to upgrade this patch, they should use the small update KB4517245 to switch to Windows 10 1909.
KB4601315 fixes:
- Fixed the ‘privilege elevation’ vulnerability that may appear in the win32k component.
- Including Windows App platform and framework, Windows Apps, Windows input and composition, Windows cloud infrastructure, Windows management, Windows authentication, Windows basics, Windows cryptography, Windows virtualization, Windows core network, and Windows hybrid cloud network security updates.
Known issues with KB4601315:
When upgrading the device from Windows 10 version 1809 or later to a later version of Windows 10, system and user certificates may be lost.
The device will only be affected if the device has been installed with a cumulative update (LCU) released on or after September 16, 2020, and then updated from a media or installation source without LCU to a later version of Windows 10.
Solution: If your device has already encountered this problem, you can uninstall it from the uninstall window by returning to the previous version of Windows and following the instructions here. After solving the problems in the environment, you will need to update to the latest version of Windows 10.
