Xiaomi Redmi K40 to be powered by Snapdragon 870 chipset

Recently, the general manager of Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi officially confirmed that the company will launch its next-generation flagship product Redmi K40 on February 25.

Prior to the official launch, new information about the upcoming Redmi K40 device has appeared online. Leaked screenshots show that one of the main differences between Redmi K40 and Redmi K40 Pro is its processor.

The standard model is supported by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC, while the pro model is supported by the Snapdragon 888.

The report shows that there will be a third model in the series, supported by the MediaTek Dimension 1200 chipset based on the 6nm process. The model name should be Redmi K40S.

Both Redmi K40 and K40 Pro have similar display types. The front is a 6.81-inch AMOLED panel that supports 1440p screen resolution, uses the same E4 luminescent material as Mi 11, and supports a 120Hz refresh rate.

According to the camera specifications, they will all be equipped with a 108-megapixel main sensor. However, the Pro model is equipped with a 13-pixel ultra-wide-angle lens and a 5-pixel telephoto lens, while the standard model will be equipped with an 8-pixel ultra-wide-angle sensor and a 5-pixel telephoto lens.
