Germany says, Tesla must recall approximately 12,300 Model X cars worldwide due to body molding problems

With the growth of Tesla’s sales, users are constantly complaining about Tesla vehicles. Problems like abnormal acceleration, battery fire, and remote vehicle upgrade (OTA) have been reported frequently.

Earlier, Tesla was investigated by regulatory agencies in many countries due to quality control issues, and now it has been ordered to be recalled by Germany.

Lately, the German Automobile Administration (KBA) said on its website that Tesla must recall approximately 12,300 Model X cars worldwide due to body molding problems.

KBA announced that the vehicles involved in the recall include Model X produced from 2015 to 2016, and the body structure modules of these vehicles are at risk of falling off.

Although the recalled Tesla models belong to an early stage, it can be seen that the market administration attaches great importance to Tesla models. After all, Tesla has recently recalled more frequently in major markets around the world.

Prior to this, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) required Tesla to recall some Model S and Model X models, a total of 158,000 vehicles. Under pressure from US regulators, Tesla declared the recall of nearly 135,000 vehicles with touch screen problems.

Tesla is widely criticized for product quality problems. Recently, Tesla CEO Musk admitted for the first time Tesla’s quality control problems in an interview by industry analyst Sandy Munro.

Musk said in the interview: ‘We spent some time to really solve the production problem. During the previous increase in production, we found that the paint did not dry. If we find out earlier, we can solve it earlier.

Speeding up the production line needs an extra one to two minutes. Let the vehicle paint dry, but there is actually not enough time to dry the paint. This is an example, yes, our production is like hell.’

The American market research company J.DPower launched the 2020 American Market New Car Quality Study (IQS) report that Tesla’s initial quality score is 250PP100, which means that every 100 Tesla models will have 250 problems, ranking bottom.
